Registration & Activation
If you’re a full-time or co-op student, you will be automatically registered in your first term courses. This will happen in our system on September 1, 2020. (Accelerated students register in a different way.)
We use a cohort approach for first-term courses. This means you’ll attend all of your first-term classes virtually with the same group of 30 – 40 students. You’ll be automatically placed in a cohorts. Each cohort is also divided into smaller learning groups. All cohorts have the same general class schedule, and requests to change cohorts are not accommodated.
You don’t need to worry about registering for first-term courses, but you will need to activate several McMaster tools and platforms.
Spend some time familiarizing yourself with Mosaic, our student information system. You will use it to:
- View your course registration
- See your weekly schedule
- Find out how much tuition you owe
- Register for future courses (and for required SGS Training Modules)
Your course schedule and tuition fees won’t be visible on the system until our Student Experience team has confirmed your registration.
Avenue to Learn
Avenue to Learn is McMaster’s online education portal.
It gives you a place to easily access information and resources for all of your courses. Most faculty members post their course syllabus on Avenue, as well as lecture notes and other course-related material.
You will log into Avenue to Learn using your MacID and password.
OSCARplus is McMaster’s online career portal. Use OSCARplus to learn about and/or register for:
- Student events
- Company information sessions
- Job postings
- Academic support appointments
- Career support appointments
As a DeGroote MBA student you have access to OSCARplus’ business module. This gives you access to specific programming and job opportunities.
You will be able to access OSCARplus about two days after your registration is confirmed. You log in using your MacID and password. When you log in for the first time your account will be activated and you’ll be tagged as an MBA student — with access to specific job postings, events, and appointments.
Make sure you activate your account (by logging in) as soon as you can after your registration is confirmed.
